We understand that dealing with an accident and being without your automobile can be frustrating, so we have provided a list of frequently asked questions. These questions should address any concerns you may have about the car repair process. If you don’t see an answer to your questions here, please feel free to contact us.

The vehicle owner is responsible for repairs. However, your insurance company has a legal obligation to you, their insured customer, to pay for repairs after an estimate has been accepted. Generally an insured customer will pay their deductible and the insurance company will pay the rest to the insured unless you specifically notify your insurance company that you want them to pay the body shop directly.

At the time you drop off your vehicle to us, we will give you a target date. We will be able to update you within a few days to confirm that date. The date depends on the parts to be ordered and after we have contacted your insurance company for any additional repairs if needed.

Do I have to use the body shop recommended by my insurance company? 2014-02-12T21:41:23+00:00

No. It is your legal right to do business with the shop of your choice.

How many estimates am I required to get? 2014-02-12T21:41:16+00:00

None. There is no law that requires estimates. It is the insurance company’s obligation to adjust your claim fairly. If you decide to leave your vehicle with us, we will supervise the insurance appraiser and make sure they write a fair estimate.

Yes, Enterprise has a location in our shop(s). If you have rental car coverage, the rental company should be able to set up a direct billing with your insurance company unless your policy states otherwise.

I’ve never needed collision repair before. What is the claims process? 2014-02-12T21:40:33+00:00

When you contact your insurance company (or the other driver’s insurance company), they will ask you to explain what happened and complete a form detailing the accident. When you’ve submitted the form online or mailed it, you will be given a claim number. Thereafter, we can handle the repair process, including dealing with the insurance appraiser and getting you a rental car if you need one.

Yes. At Severn Auto Body, we offer a lifetime warranty on all of our repairs.

You will be notified when your vehicle is ready to be picked up. We will normally contact you a day in advance. Feel free to call or email us during the repair process if you have questions or concerns.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash and insurance company checks.
We no longer accept personal checks.

If your deductible is not waived, it will be your responsibility to pay Severn Auto Body when you pick up your vehicle.

Your policy will reflect a deductible amount which is paid to Severn Auto Body at the time your vehicle is returned to you.
